CLACS offers a graduate certificate in Latin American & Caribbean Studies.

The certificate acknowledges language competency, completion of relevant coursework, and authorship of a significant written work related to the region. While it does not appear on the transcript, it demonstrates expertise in the region.
Graduate students enrolled in the certificate may apply for funds to support their study of the region. Visit this page for more information. Additionally, US Department of Education FLAS fellowships are available through a competitive process. Visit this page for information about FLAS.
Graduate students are also encouraged to participate in the annual interdisciplinary graduate student conference.
Certificate Requirements
Select a Latin American and Caribbean Studies faculty member to serve as mentor to provide recommendations about courses, research and resources.
Complete foreign language study relevant to individual educational and career objectives.
Complete at least 7 credits of coursework focused on Latin American and Caribbean Studies that meet your interests and are approved by CLACS.
Research and authorship of a significant written work related to the region.
