The Américas Award was founded in 1993 by the Consortium of Latin American Studies Programs (CLASP) to recognize authors who produce quality books with positive portrayals of content related to Latin America, the Caribbean and Latinx cultures. The list of award recipients provides a list of recommendations for teachers to use in their classes.
